PoleScope AR does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, usage analytics, crash reports, or device identifiers. There are no third-party SDKs in the app.
GPS coordinates are read on-device only, for astronomical calculations (local sidereal time, celestial-pole altitude, deep-sky object visibility). Coordinates never leave your device and are not written to disk, except for an optional manual-override value you explicitly enter in Settings.
The camera is used solely to overlay the celestial pole on the live view during AR polar alignment. The feed is processed in real time and is never saved or transmitted.
Gyroscope and accelerometer data are used in memory for AR orientation only. Motion data is never stored or transmitted.
Only when you tap “Share Poster”, the generated star-sky poster is saved to your photo library. The app does not read any other content from your library.
The app makes zero network requests and is fully functional offline. The only network-related component is StoreKit (in-app purchase verification), handled entirely by Apple.
The app is rated 4+ and does not target children specifically. As no data is collected, COPPA / GDPR-K obligations do not apply.
